Can you put a 95 Ford Ranger front axle into a 93 Ford explorer?

the front axle on my 93 ford explorer is broken and i have a 95 ranger that's for parts. there both 4 wheel drive. just want to know if the 95 ranger front axle will fit into the explorer|||i kinda doubt it. the explorer is a bigger vehicle then the ranger. i could be wrong but i think the housing is longer on the explorer which means the axle will be too long. about the only way to know before tearing it down would be go to a junk yard and ask them. they should have a book on interchangeable parts.
