What are the differences between these systems:
1) Multi-Mode 4-wheel drive
2) Full-time 4-wheel drive
3) Electronic On-Demand 4-wheel drive
4) All-Wheel Drive
5) part-time 4-wheel drive
???|||For me would be like this:
1) Multi-Mode 4-wheel drive
The car usually have a transfer case and you have 2 options for 4WD setup, a regular 4wd and a reduction gear. A Jeep Liberty for example.
2) Full-time 4-wheel drive
The car doesn't have the option for a 2wd, but don't have a reduction gear. Subaru Impreza for example
3) Electronic On-Demand 4-wheel drive
The 4wd engage only when the front wheels loose traction. VW Golf R32 for example
4) All-Wheel Drive
The same of the number 2
5) part-time 4-wheel drive
The car uses only the 4wd when you want, otherwise the car runs as a 2wd. This kind of car don't have a reduction gear as well. The Ford Escape for example.
