How difficult is it to change the brakes and brake discs on a 4 wheel drive Toyota?

have a T100 4x4 and i have heard that it is more difficult than usual to change out the brakes and roters ,,since it is a 4x4....I am not sure how much of that is just a "marketing ploy" to charge you nearly 1/3 more..but...was wondering if i was going to do it myself..how difficult and which tools i would need and how much time?

also, if just wanting to change out the front brakes..and discs...would this make any difference?

please explain and if can ,,give instructions. WHY DO MECHANICS CHARGE SO MUCH TOO? ..lol...AND HOW MUCH I CAN SAVE PROBABLY BY DOING IT MYSELF AND BUYING PARTS AT AN OFF BRAND PARTS STORE? (SINCE MANY ALSO SAY THEY WONT USE OFF BRAND PARTS.."FOR INSURANCE REASONS")

thanks for your answers!|||http://www.yotatech.com/f132/toyota-t100鈥?/a>|||Mechanics charge because they have very high overhead costs. They have a fortune invested in tools. They have to go back to school ever year to keep up with the technology. They have to buy new software for their scan tools every year. The shops have to pay for worker's comp insurance to cover injuries on the job. The shop has to pay to comply with environmental laws.

So the answer is, they earn every penny of it.

Now, Mr. Cheapskate. Instead of asking for us to sit here and type out 4 pages of step by step instructions, why don't you shell out $12 for a 1-week subscription to eautoreapair.net and print out the instructions yourself.
