Wheel compatibility between Volkswagen and Saturn wheels?

I hit a pit hole and dented the metal part of the wheel on my saturn tire and it made the tire go flat. It is a 14 inch wheel with 4 lug nuts, and a friend of mine has a volkswagon tire that is also 14 inches and 4 lug nuts. Is it possible to take this tire to a shop and have it changed? Or does the tire not match up with the car?

I really need to know immediately, I'm trying to find a job and not have a vehicle is a good way to halt the process.|||Check the tire sizes and make sure they are the same for starters. The tire size would be listed for example as P195/60/R14. As long as those numbers are the same on both tires you wont have a problem. Make sure your friend's rim is the same bolt pattern as yours, thats easy to figure out, take your wheel off, then take his wheel and see if it will bolt up, if so then you've found your spare rim. Now just go to whatever tire shop you like and have them swap tires and you're good to go. If his rim doesn't fit, you might try some of the mom and pop tire and wheel shops, they keep stock rims sometimes for people who like to play chicken with curbs ;) I had a customer with a bent rim and went to a local tire shop and picked one up for $15. Hope this helps.
