The 4 wheel drive is stuck and undrivable with the driveshaft(front wheels slip/burn out w/ little gas) so i want to remove it, any one have any pics or written directions on how to do so? Also will this hurt the transmission or transfer case? Its stuck in part time 4 wheel drive is that matter. Thanks for any and all info!|||Wait! before you remove your front shaft know this... unless your transfer case is locked in you will cause severe damage driving on a single axel. there is a well to put it bluntly a giant spring that helps compensate when one axel spins faster than the other but if one tire is much smaller or one axel is disengaged you can easily destroy your transfer case. it overcoils the spring and ruins it... and to remove your driveshaft just unbolt the U bolts on both ends... there will be 4 bolts on the differential side and 4 bolts on the transfer case side.|||Crawl under. There will be some bolts or nuts you can remove that hold the driveshaft in. You'll find them.
It won't hurt anything to have it stuck in 4wd with the front driveshaft out.|||you either have a bad sending unit, or a bad vaccum motor on your front axle. remove the plate over the vaccum motor on the left side,(looking at it from the front), of the front axle. take a screwdriver, and push the shaft towards the wheel to disengage the 4 wheel drive. much better than taking out the drive shaft since your axle would still turn and drag anyway from the wheels turning|||umm take the bottom apart.
