Jeep wont start after it was stuck in 4 wheel drive low not high?

Went and started my 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country even though its cold started fine. Switched it in 4 Wheel Drive Full Time since of course theres snow everywhere. The dash read Part Time (vehicle was in park and still is) so I waited for it to realize its in full time. It didnt. So I shut my Jeep off thinking it just needed to be reset. Now it wont start. It turns on, and tries to engage but the engine doesnt click on. Its not the starter/battery etc. Is it a computer glitch? please help Ive tried turning just the battery part on and off and trying to start and still nothing. Tried putting it in neutral and starting, same thing.|||The T-case has nothing to do with the motor not starting.|||Ignition relay....little black box attached to the steering column under the dash. Replace it. The part costs about $15 and you can replace it yourself.

The 4x4 incident was a coincidence|||First, in order for the full time 4 wheel to engage, the car has to move a tiny bit. The wheels have to move, and then the transfer case lock in and the front wheel differential will engage. So, after you start it, just move the car and it should shift to full time.

As for not starting, you say it is not your battery. If there is a "clicking noise" then the starter solenoid is not fully engaging, and a low battery could cause this.

I don't now what you mean by "turning the battery part on and off"... the battery doesn't have an on and off switch.

Your car not starting and it being in 4 wheel drive are two separate things, and so shouldn't affect each other. However, if it is electronic switching, maybe you left it on, and over a period of time, it wore the battery down a bit.

Ask for a jump and then let it run for half an hour, to recharge.

And you have to let the wheels roll before it will engage the full time 4 wheel drive. Once the car moves a few inches, it should engages.
