I left for work this morning pulling out of driveway, down street in low gear i hear a thump....thump.....thump (not just the sound you can feel this pretty well also. Oh crap i have a flat but i get out and theres no flat so i start pushing and pulling on wheels and suspension parts. everything seemed fine except when i pushed on a rear wheel it seemed loose, but when i got home and jacked it up it was fine, also spun without any noise. I drove up and down the street got up to about 40 mph and it seemed to only be noticable going less then 15 any clue what could be wrong with my truck??|||U-joints in the drive shaft, or a wheel bearing. I vote the wheel bearing.
When you have an hour before you move the cold vehicle, put serious chocks on the front wheels to make sure they cannot roll. Place the axle jack under the rear axle, and lift one wheel off the ground, test it, then do the other.
When the wheel is off the ground, turn the tire by hand, feeling for resistance: it will appear for a moment, as the wheel is turned. This momentary spot will repeat. If it doesn't, try the other wheel. If it happens with both wheels, then chances are its the u-joints on the driveshaft.
Else, there may be a brake issue. Do you set the parking brake when you park for the night? It might be sticking.
