How to convert 4 wheel drive transmission to 2 wheel drive transmission and parts required?

have good transmission from gm 4x4 to install in gm 2 wheel drive, how to convert and wha parts are required|||It depends on the year and model. The biggest hangup is that usually the output shaft has to be changed. The output shaft is the first thing to go into the case which means everything else has to come out to get to it.|||if you have a 4x4 transmission and you want to put it in a 2 wheel drive then you have to drop the transfer case and change the tail shaft. take the transfer case off, change the shaft and housing. make sure the mount will bolt up. if it don,t want to line up you might have to mover the cross member up or back some to line the mount up.|||It would be a lot cheaper to just trade vehicles.
