Nissan Pathfinder 4-wheel drive question...?

I have a 2003 Nissan Pathfinder with 49 K miles. I engaged the part time 4-wheel drive system to 4H today: when I make tight turns, the front tires don't turn smoothly. It is hard to explain, but it is almost like they skip, very choppy-like. The vehicle is covered under a full coverage warranty, I am just not sure if there is actually anything wrong or not... any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!|||what you was feeling was normal ,if it was on dry ground and you locked it in that's a normal feeling for that too happen, what it did was grab traction when you turned the wheels,so that's normal feeling ,you wont notice it if your on a real slick road, but any dry pavement will do this,at least you know its works right,as long as its doing that its working, good luck on it.|||your welcome.

|||I experienced this with my Suzuki 4 wheel drive when it was engaged in 4H or 4L. I think it's just the front axle being engaged and it's effect on the dynamics of turning. Just make sure you don't have 4H engaged when you don't need it. I am not sure about Nissan's new 4 wheel drive system, but traditionally, you don't want to use 4H on dry, hard pavement. It causes excessive wear to the 4x4 system.|||This happens on Front wheels of all 4 Wheel Drives

It freaked me out the first time I did It with 88 F-250 4x4.

The wheels are not meant to be cranked that tight in 4 wheel drive mode.

I can't repeat the explanation I heard many years ago, but I just try not to tight turn it anymore.

But If you phone The Nissan Service Dept, They will explain it.

It doesn't need fixing.|||That means It works!!!
