What are the Official Directions, for bringing an SUV (Jeep Specifically) out of 4-wheel drive?

So I have a Jeep Larado, with "Full time" and "Part time" all wheel drive.

My Town doesn't require "Part time" drive, because we get sporatic snow. But at times, I use the "Full time"...for extra care.

Most times...I'm in normal 2WL drive...

My problem is, I can't seem to smoothly bring the Jeep out of all wheel, back into 2 wheel drive...The Shifter is in the 2WL slot, but it's definitely in all wheel still.

I've tried putting it into Neutral and shifting it...Slowing driving (Less than 5 miles/hr) and shifting it..heck, I've even been driving at 30mpg, and tried it.

I never know when it slips back into 2WD, just one moment...I notice it's back.

Does anyone know, what's the best way...the correct way, of bringing it out of all wheel, back into 2 wheel?

THANKS!|||Sometimes they hang up a bit, try stopping and backing up about 15'. By reversing the gears it relieves the pressure and should allow it to release into 2WD|||I don't have a jeep, but the only advice I could give you is to look in your owners manual.
